At St. Alphonsus Catholic School, we know how important it is to start off on the right path when your child is beginning school.  We partner with parents to make your child's introduction to school a fun & engaging experience.

 

Curriculum Focus:

Our Early Childhood curriculum is designed just for these age groups which provides a solid foundation for learning that is centered on the whole child.  We focus on intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical development in a safe & nurturing environment designed to build curiosity & a love of learning.  Our curriculum also promotes confidence & independence, as well as decision-making & problem-solving skills through organized, active play and individual choice play.

  • Play-Based:
    • Organized, active play as well as individual choice play to work on skills like developing large & small muscles, making choices & discoveries, problem solving, and more.
    • Focus on STEM & multi-sensory/hands-on learning, including a dedicated STEM room

     

  • Academic Focus:
    • Literacy, Math, Religion, Fine Motor Skills, Name Writing, Vocabulary, Social Skills & Interactions
    • Safe, nurturing, positive environment designed just for their age group

 

  • Faith-Filled:
    • Students attend an all-school mass once a week on Wednesdays; parents are always invited to attend
    • Mealtime prayers, worship music, Seeds religious education program
    • Learn about Catholic holidays and sacraments
    • Special Traditions:  Christmas program, May Crowning, Eucharistic Adoration, Mothers' & Fathers' Day Celebrations, Grandparents' Day

 

  • Buddy Program:
    • All St. Alphonsus Catholic School students are paired with an older student, their "buddy," to build community & respect for kids of all ages
    • 3K paired with 3rd Grade & 8th Grade
    • 4K paired with 4th Grade
    • 5K paired with 5th Grade
    • 1st Grade paired with 6th Grade
    • 2nd Grade paired with 7th Grade
    • Buddies sit together at mass and meet monthly for games & activities designed to grow their relationships

Program Details

  • Must be 3 years old by September 1 for 3K
  • All 3K students must be toilet trained, no exceptions
  • Must be 4 years old by September 1 for 4K
  • Must be 5 years old by September 1 for 5K
